#GivingTuesday is December 3rd, 2019– Please consider supporting CARE!

#GivingTuesday began years ago as a local event dedicated to giving back after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Today, it is an international movement, uniting millions of people around the world with one goal: help others. Individuals, families, organizations, businesses, and neighborhoods come together to support the causes they believe in and the communities in which they live.

At CARE, we’re grateful for our community of volunteers, partners, and donors who are committed to advancing financial literacy. Together, we are helping youth across the country secure stronger financial futures. And, our programs continue to grow and reach more youth in need of financial education. Just this month, the Los Angeles chapter of CARE presented to 1,400 high school students.

I am inspired by the dedication of our volunteers who share their experiences and knowledge with others in support of improving their lives. I recently spent time with CARE’s Founder, Retired Judge, The Honorable John Ninfo, in Rochester, New York, where he offered his own top 10 tips to a group of community college students. Perhaps my favorite is number three, budget to control your spending or it will control you. As a former bankruptcy judge, there is no doubt that he witnessed too many people come into his courtroom who lost control of their finances.

We can help our youth by giving them the tools and opportunity to take control of their finances and their futures. Like Judge Ninfo, CARE volunteers across the country are making connections that change lives. Please consider making a gift to CARE this giving season. Every dollar donated will support our efforts to expand our volunteer base and reach more schools and students in 2020.
