June CARE Corner: New Chapters And June Travel

CARE Starts New Chapters in Louisiana, Montana, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia

Since the start of 2018, CARE has started new chapters in the following locations: Alexandria, LA; Butte, MT; Austin, TX; Norfolk, VA; Roanoke, VA; and West Virginia (statewide).

The Alexandria chapter will be led by Bankruptcy Judge John Kolwe (W.D. LA). Bankruptcy Judge Benjamin Hursh (D. MT) will coordinate the new CARE Butte chapter. in Virginia, Angela Haen (Boleman Law Firm, PC) is coordinating the CARE Chapter in Norfolk, and Bankruptcy Judge Paul Black (W.D. VA) is running the CARE Chapter in Roanoke. Bankruptcy Judge Patrick Flatley (N.D. WV) and Jared Tully (Frost Brown Todd, LLC) will be working with the West Virginia State Bar Association and other organizations to coordinate statewide CARE activities in West Virginia.

Join CARE at ABI’s Central States Bankruptcy Workshop and the NACTT Annual Seminar

CARE Programs Manager Ian Redman will be attending ABI’s Central States Workshop from June 7-9 in Lake Geneva, WI. Visit the exhibit table or find Ian at the s’mores station to learn more about CARE and how to get involved.

If you are attending the NACTT Annual Seminar in Miami, FL from June 27-30, be sure to find CARE Executive Director Anna Flores in the exhibit space. These are great opportunities to learn more about CARE and the services provided to young people nationwide.

Congratulations to CARE Intern Nic Stevens!

CARE intern Nic Stevens graduated in May 2018 from George Washington University with a B.A. in international affairs from the Elliott School of International Affairs. In his work with CARE, Nic helped with research, database cleanup, and communications. CARE would like to congratulate Nic on this wonderful achievement and wish him the best in his future with the Peace Corps.
