September CARE Corner: Call for Volunteers + Volunteer Award Nominations Open

Volunteers

Each month, CARE publishes a column called the “CARE Corner” in the American Bankruptcy Institute’s “ABI Journal.” This is the September 2018 column republished and lightly edited for the website blog. This month we make a Back-To-School Call for Volunteers and discuss CARE’s Annual Volunteer Award Nominations.

Back-to-School Season: Call for Volunteers

With the back-to-school season starting, CARE seeks new volunteers to join its chapters as 2018-2019 school year activities heat up. Visit our volunteer page to find your nearest chapter on the volunteer map. If you do not see a chapter near you and are interested in starting one, please email CARE Programs Manager Ian Redman at [email protected].

Volunteer Award Nominations

Each year, CARE honors several chapters and volunteers to recognize their contributions to our financial education mission. Last year, CARE expanded its recognition to make sure all facets of the volunteer program are being recognized. These awards include Volunteer of the Year, Chapter of the Year, and Rising Star.

The Volunteer of the Year award goes to an individual who has gone above and beyond to further CARE’s cause and has made an impact in his/her community and chapter. The Chapter of the Year award goes to an entire chapter for their work, growth, and success as a chapter. CARE’s Rising Star award goes to a volunteer who joined this year and has quickly made a large impact. Awards will be presented at the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Winter Leadership Meeting at a CARE Holiday Reception (link coming soon). All CARE volunteers are eligible. Nominations should be emailed by Oct. 19 to CARE Executive Director Anna Flores at [email protected].
