About Us
In metro Atlanta, the Atlanta Bar Association and the Judges of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia have partnered to provide financial literacy and credit education to high school students through CARE for more than fifteen years. Attorney volunteers typically pair up with a judge to give hour-long presentations to high school juniors and seniors to help them understand the basics of credit and how to intelligently manage their credit cards and credit card debt. At last count, CARE Atlanta had 50 volunteers (though not all are active). We have worked with schools all over the Atlanta metro area including schools in Atlanta and Fulton, DeKalb, and Cobb Counties.
CARE Atlanta has 50 volunteers from across the bankruptcy and restructuring field including judges, attorneys, financial professionals. We have worked with schools all over the Atlanta metro area including schools in Atlanta and Fulton, DeKalb, and Cobb Counties. We offer workshops covering personal finance topics including budgeting and saving, credit and debt, and student loans. Our workshops are presented at the request of teachers who would like to enhance their curriculum by inviting guest presenters into their classroom. CARE is designed to benefit a wide arrange of students and we are happy to work with you to provide a program that is tailored to the needs of your students and curriculum.

Testimonials
As one educator at a Title I school we visited wrote, “Your services are desperately needed. The more we all know about finances and credit, hopefully, the better we do. Thank you for the impact you are having on young people. This is such an excellent program for high school students.” This statement, directly from a teacher with whom we work, sums up the impact our program has had on students in our area. Another reported: “One of my seniors just informed me that she is now deciding to go to college because of the information she received” from the presentation.
