How to Start a New CARE Chapter
Complete the contact form on this page and a CARE staff member will reach out to you to learn more about your interest in the program. The team will send you all the materials you need and connect you with other volunteer coordinators in your region to help you get started.
Partner with Your Employer or Community Organization
Some of our most successful chapters are anchored by an organization or company that helps to sponsor initial meetings, trainings and organic promotion. Reach out to individuals in your company, firm, or local organization about working with you to launch a chapter and recruit volunteers.
Recruit and Train New Volunteers
Recruit volunteers who are knowledgeable about financial education or financial services. Volunteers can come from a number of sources such as professional organizations, bar associations, co-workers, etc. Once you have identified some volunteers, work with the national office to conduct a volunteer training session to prepare your chapter to present to students.
Leverage Your Chapter to Build Relationships with Schools and Youth Organizations
Many of your volunteers and chapter members will know teachers, PTA presidents, and organization leaders where you can offer CARE presentations. Use those connections to find the first set of schools and organizations to present to. Once you give your first presentations, you can use your experiences to reach out to new schools and organizations.
